Clos de Mireille · Domaines Ott · Provence
Yearning was inspired by the Clos de Mireille from Domaines Ott. The moodboard, assembled from the colour of the rosé, the light of Provence and the texture of lavender and linen, became the blueprint for her portrait. Jean-François Ott personally expressed his appreciation for the way his wine had been interpreted.
"He doesn't make artworks. He creates encounters."

Wine has taste, colour, depth and history. Wine has character.
But what if wine were a woman? Who would she be, and what would she look like? Fresh or layered, powerful or refined, restrained or provocative. Open and direct, or someone who reveals herself only slowly.
This question has stayed with me for years. Only through the developments of our time can I truly and originally allow a new personality to emerge, exactly as I see her before me.
For WiWwaW I observe, taste and explore. I deconstruct a wine: its grape, its terroir, its climate and its history. I gather these separate elements in my mind, translate their essence into a mood board and build her from words, images, association and intuition.
Sometimes everything begins with her eyes, the mirror of her soul. In her gaze I place character, tension and softness long before her posture and her world take shape.
Layer by layer she grows, until the moment I know: she is right.
She may exist.
She is.
May you have beautiful encounters.
Every portrait begins long before the image exists. In the atelier, a wine is tasted, studied and taken apart, grape, terroir, climate, history.
Each character starts as a moodboard: words, colours, textures and images that together form her DNA. No two moodboards look alike. Some feel like a painting. Others like a poem. That diversity is not accidental, reflecting the character of the wine itself.
Each moodboard travels with the finished work to its collector. A private window into the creative process, yours to keep.
Each portrait exists in a limited edition. Acquire a work, and the moodboard that gave her life.
